The Westerhonk playground is within walking distance of the Delft main train station, in a quiet residential neighbourhood. It has custom-made wooden equipment designed and carved by a local artist and which regularly gets repainted by teams of volunteers from local Delft companies.
Young children can play in the sand box and on sunny days with running water at the pump. they can sit inside the pretend wooden locomotive, pedal on the mini bike merry-go-round or run inside the huts. Older children love the sliding cable, the swings and climbing sets.
There are a toilet and a mini store with snacks for playground users. The daycare next door uses it on week day mornings and shares it with visitors in the afternoon. People can become members of the playground through a small donation to help it run. Members are allowed to rent out the playground for private birthday parties
